Give us the option to turn off the new sickness inducing jump animation.
Also, wait until I ask for a system scan to run the matrix over your beautiful spacescapes.
We just want options. |

I can't even look at the screen when I'm jumping anymore. Please, just give us the option to turn this graphic nightmare off.
I would also like to request that you remove the auto-scan when we land in a new system. I don't mind the matrix, but at least wait until I ask for a scan to run before you dirty up the beautiful backgrounds.
All we want are options. |

For the love of god can we please just have the option to turn off the auto scan of every system we jump into? I like the animation, but please just wait for me to ask for the scan. Unless we are going to start making all of our ship functions automatic now?
I'm already alt-tabbing out every time I jump or hitting f10 because I've given up on ever getting the option to make the puke tunnel go away.

Your ship approaches the gate and slows down into range. Remove the whole swinging around to align and leaving the camera controls to the owner.
The gate begins sparking away, glowing brighter. This should have an option aspect.
Your ship in its present position gets engulfed with electricity and fades into the cloaked mode. Years ago, fading away was this rolling effect across your ship so a bit of spark might be pretty. Again, this should have an option aspect.
The whole screen fades into black. Going on "realism" (with a heavy grain of salt), if we pilots need to spend a bit of real time to travel faster than light across one galaxy, how are we suppose to travel the void between these galaxies nearly instantaneously and still watch the lights go by? For me, the black screen represented we were moving so, so, so fast that we outran light itself! Again, this should have an option aspect.
The exit side begins to fade into view - not this mad dash of everything closing in, but your surroundings slowly appear more and more solid in nature. Again, this should have an option aspect.
Your ship appears in its cloaked mode state.
This would give players numerous options on traveling the gates. So if a player wants the rush of sliding down a tube at high speeds, then let them. If a player wants the casual jump feeling, then let them. The basic foundation of being moved from one system to the next system is already there. It's the graphics that should have the options available.
Just my thoughts.

I'm still not at all happy with the camera movement I still don't find the whole tunnel thing to be visually appealing I still don't like the "quick zoom into position" at the destination
So no, I haven't adapted at all and still would like a switch to turn it off.
Agreed, just add check boxes please. |

Essack Leadae wrote:Worst thing is that we are at summer, most players can invest more hours on EVE... and some can't because of this animation.
I do log more in EVE since one week because I got more free time, but still I can do only trading/afk-hauling, so most of this time isn't used for interesting activities... And now it happens frequently that I launch an another game while EVE is still working just because I forgot that I launched it.
When Odyssey was about to be released, I thought that I would use my free time in a better way, so naturally my frustation level is going up.
God bless Valve, there is the summer sales on Steam.

Giving us options is not a cop-out. Your jump animation makes me sick, so I LEAVE THE GAME instead of watching your animation. Is that your goal? |

We ARE looking at this and considering what we can do. The back end system used by the client has changed which makes a "turn off" not a real proposition. We are looking at ways to reduce the nausea reaction some players are experiencing through other means.
It would be helpful if we got feedback about what in particular during the jump sequence is causing the most difficulty
I am sorry for those adversely affected,.
I didn't see that reply, thanks Sally Deninard.
I still have to alt tab out of the game during every jump. I still think the scan should not start unless I ask it to.
I think that the one thing "in particular that causes difficulty" is a fast moving, spinning tunnel of clouds that makes me vomit in my mouth.
The scan animation is more of a pet peeve afterwards, but I don't think those who are not exploring should have to see the animation every time if they are not using the feature. |
